The Daukas Family 10-21-10

I met up with the Daukas family yesterday to shoot some family portraits. This family was so fun, and I loved their unique idea for the location... THE CITY! As Im sure you are all aware... I am a rustic/country settings kinda girl... but I loved the challenge of the city! The buildings we chose for the backgrounds each have a special meaning... for example... the building that looks like the empire state building was in fact the prototype for it. The Empire State Building was designed by William F. Lamb which produced the building drawings in just two weeks, using its earlier designs for the Reynolds Building in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the Carew Tower in Cincinnati, Ohio as a basis. Every year the staff of the Empire State Building sends a Father's Day card to the staff at the Reynolds Building in Winston-Salem to pay homage to its role as predecessor to the Empire State Building. .............................(pretty cool) &....The bridge they are standing under... wont be standing much longer.. when the new highway is built... (or whatever changes they are making) So these were truely meaningful spots.... Hope you enjoy these sneak peaks!
